About 1133 Connecticut Avenue

1133 Connecticut Avenue, constructed in 1988 is a 170,000 square foot commercial office building with two levels of underground parking and 2-1/2 levels of retail, located adjacent to the Mayflower Hotel. This graceful twelve-story structure occupies the corner of DeSales Street, N.W. on the Connecticut Avenue corridor between the parks of Dupont Circle and Farragut Square. The neoclassical façade features a limestone base, precast concrete articulated with masonry piers, and a custom copper-clad glass curtain wall. A custom exterior canopy of glass and metal highlights the office building’s entrance.

The main lobby features an E. Howard Gravity Escapement Tower Clock. The tower clock is a very rare no. 2 Dennison gravity escapement-type clock that features a four-way dial differential on top, original paint and Queen Anne legs.
